A Meteor will Strike the Earth and Destroy All Life Forms â€Å"With millions and millions of meteors hurtling around in our solar system, there’s always a chance that one could hit Earth at any moment. But what would be the consequences and how would the Earth be affected if one does happen to hit? If an object from space hit the sea, a huge tidal wave would be formed, hundreds of meters high, which would leave most of the world under water for a period of time, destroying and killing everything in it’s way. This would have a catastrophic effect on the Earth, as most people would be killed, and leaving countries powerless, unable to do anything. Crops would also be destroyed, starvation would kill all of the survivors, homes would be washed away leaving no shelters, and without hospitals or medication disease would spread quickly killing even more people. As it can be seen, the effects of a meteorite hitting the sea would only cause a temporary, yet catastrophic flooding. Though a direct impact on the ice caps could cause a larger scale of destruction. The caps would melt, increasing the sea level a few hundred meters high. On the other hand, if an object from space hit land, it would cause a huge amount of dust and dirt to be thrown into the atmosphere. This dust would stay in the atmosphere for many years and would block out the sun, causing the Earth to fall into a darkness, as well as leaving many consequences on the planet. Crops would fail due to the lack of light, which would cause massive starvation and death. It would be difficult to breathe without special masks to filter out the dust. With no sunlight or heat, being able to penetrate the atmosphere, the overall world temperature would fall dramatically, causing a possible ice age to occur.† - â€Å"Death in June† (Discover; page 16). With all the facts and governmental resource, there is a good chance that a meteor could hit the earth at any moment causing the world to end!   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Over the millions of years that Earth has existed, there have been billions of meteors that hit, but of all the ones that hit, scientists concluded that they were not Earth threatening. The most recent meteor that struck Earth, that caused serious damage, was on the morning on June 30, 1908 in Siberia. When it hit, it had the force of a 20-megaton nuclear bomb. The collision caused nearly a t... ...ll 100 or more people. They also feel that 1,000 people or more would get killed once in every 1,000,000 years due to a meteor. Just to warn you, there hasn’t been a major strike that killed that many people or left serious damage to Earth in a few million years. The last time a meteor caused great damage was in prehistoric time when a meteor weighting about 132,000 pounds landed in Southwest Africa. That meteor is the biggest one that scientists ever found on Earth. Sadly for us though, there are millions of meteors that are hundreds of times bigger then the one that hit in Southwest Africa. Just imagine the damage that could occur if one does hit!   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  In conclusion, a meteor will hit the Earth in the near future destroying the human race and every other form of life on Earth. It probably won’t happen in the next ten years, but maybe somewhere between the next hundred to thousand years. There have been many meteors that have struck the Earth’s surface, and there’s still millions of huge ones out there. Probably the only good news regarding a meteor hitting the Earth, is that both the Government and NASA are working on many ideas to prevent it from happening.

Sexual harassment is one of the biggest problems facing our schools and businesses today. A week rarely goes by without a reminder of the pervasiveness of sexual harassment as a social problem. Sexual harassment is a growing problem in the government agencies, schools, and the corporations of the world; however, many corporations are now adopting new anti-harassment policies. (Conta) The definition of sexual harassment is any unwanted or inappropriate sexual attention. That includes touching, looks, comments, or gestures. A key part of sexual harassment is that it is one sided and unwanted. There is a great difference between sexual arassment and romance or friendship, since those are mutual feelings of two people. Often sexual harassment makes the victim feel guilty, but it is important for the victim to remember that it is not their fault, the fault lies totally on the person who is the harasser. Many times fear is involved in sexual harassment because it isn't about physical attraction, it's about power. In fact, many sexual harassment incidents take place when one person is in a position of power over the other; or when a woman has an untraditional job such as a police officer, factory worker, business executive, or ny other traditionally male job. Typical victims of harassment are young, single, college-educated, members of a minority racial or ethnic group (if male), in a trainee position (or office/ clerical positions if male), or have an immediate supervisor of the opposite Presently, it is hard for courts and others to decide when sexual harassment has taken place because the definition of sexual harassment is much too broad. Clearing up the legal definition of sexual harassment would discourage and punish harassers and bring comfort to the victims. In public schools current sexual harassment definitions are inappropriate, since bad sexual behavior of today's children isn't sexual harassment, but it is a reflection of the vulgar, violent, and the sexually explicit nature of our media and culture. Sexual harassment usually happens to women in low-paying jobs, or women that have to have a job in order to support themselves and children. If sexual harassment happens at work, write down a detailed description of what took place, so that it is well recorded and you don't have to think back to the incident. You should keep a note pad handy for this purpose, or write it on a napkin to help you * What actually took place and what the offender said Another way to do this is to write a letter to the harasser. Be sure to keep a copy. Tell the person clearly in the letter that his behavior toward you is unwanted. Tell the person that he will be reported if the behavior doesn't stop (Kolbert). CEO's should do a variety of things to stop sexual harassment in the work place. The most important thing is senior management makes it clear to workers that harassment in any form won't be tolerated. If top managers don' take the issues seriously, employees won't either. Most consultants advise companies to do more than just post the policy on bulletin boards. They should distribute it company wide, repeatedly. Copies should be included in new employee orientation packets. Training programs should include all employees, rather than just managers. The tone should be gender neutral and avoid heavy discussions on male harassment that might cause some resentment among the male employees. Many times programs aren't effective because they spend a lot of time just attacking men and not the crime. Companies need a good system to deal with complaints. A clear process for handling complaints shows that a company takes them seriously. Until 1991 it was harder for woman to make allegations of sexual harassment, since woman felt like there was nothing that they could do about it. But the highly publicized hearings of Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill in 1991 changed everything. During the fall of 1991, the subject of sexual harassment grabbed news headlines. Everyone began discussing this issue and motions ran high. Judge Clarence Thomas was nominated to be a Supreme Court Justice, which is America's highest court, and Supreme Court Justices have their jobs for life. They cannot be fired. Before a person can be made a Justice, he or she must be questioned and Judge Thomas was ounce the head of a U. S. agency called the EEOC. The EEOC makes sure everyone is treated fairly when applying for a job. It also enforces laws against sexual harassment. Anita Hill is a law professor who worked with Judge Thomas at the EEOC many years ago. A few weeks into the Congressional Questioning she came orward and accused Thomas of sexual harassment. She claimed that he used to constantly ask her for dates and spoke to her about pornographic films he had seen. Anita Hill said that she was deeply offended by these remarks but felt that she could not complain. Clarence Thomas was her boss, and she thought that her career could be Anita Hill was a very believable witness. But Judge Thomas denied her charges in the strongest possible terms. Who was telling the truth? The country was divided. But the issue was being discussed everywhere. Women from all across the nation told of their experiences with sexual harassment. And many men admitted being Finally, the senate voted to approve Judge Thomas. But the vote was close. Many senators had doubts about Thomas's character. Others did not the, Thomas's career should be destroyed because of one person's story. They said there was not enough evidence to prove there was wrongdoing. In the end, everyone agreed that sexual harassment is a serious problem everyone must become more sensitive It's important to know that men have trouble too. Women are not the only victims of sexual harassment. More and more men are being harassed in the workplace, classrooms, and locker rooms. Whoever is in the position of power tends to be the harasser. Men can be victims of both woman and other men Sexual harassment is very wide spread, but there are ways of avoiding it, such as: Keeping everything strictly on a business level. If working in the same room as the harasser, create a barrier between the two work stations with a desk or file cabinet, etc. Do not ask for personal favors or special treatment from the harasser so that he won't feel he is owed anything. Do not talk about anything personal. Sexual harassment is always wrong. No one deserves it. And it is always hurtful to the victim.

Answer: Introduction The researcher introduced the report about cloud computing and discussed various aspects of cloud computing for DSI (Department of Spatial information). The suggested deployment is selected by DSI organization, and further assessment and information are required for technical and SLA management. In this report, the presented context describes the abilities that need to be met for different organizations. The document provides a brief idea about the management requirements and the necessity of SLA for the chosen cloud service provider. The overview of the report is to discuss in detail about the assessment of security, deployment model by DSI for OSDS (Online Spatial Delivery System) and risk management. The document also explains why we need the remote administration and SLA management and the recovery and backup plan for OSDS. 1. Requirement for SLA and Resource Management and Remote Administration The below points are explained in brief about the requirement of the resource and SLA management and remote administration. 1.1 Service Level Agreement Management The SLA (service level agreement) is an agreement or a document of contract between two firms or company where one is a service provider, and other is client or customer. It defines about what the service provide will provide you and what penalties or fine the service provider will pay the customer in case of any failed case (Wu Buyya, 2012). The purpose of SLA management is to manage SLA in such a way that the client's needs are well presented in front of the service provider, and they can provide a better service as per the needs. To retain the best talent, improve customer satisfaction, enhance billable utilization and increase profit margin effective resource management is a major aspect for all the DSI service executives those who are looking to enhance and improve the following points that are mentioned above (Manvi Shyam, 2014). The quality service is much expected by the service provider. Provide a complete control and visibility. Moreover to handle a huge of customers in the most effective manner has some important challenges. The resource management plays a major role in customer satisfaction and total performance enhancement. The resource management has to be effective on both the ends (service provider and end user) (Jhawar et al., 2012). 1.3 Remote Administration Based on the abilities of the desktops the organization uses the servers using cloud computing. The remote administration gives the user the power to access the data irrespective of the location. Reboot and shut down another computer over a network. Retrieve streaming data and a network device. Modify system services and logical groups. The files can be obtained from anywhere in this world using a different range of devices (Ramachandran et al., 2015). The interface of the remote administration system will be decided by the management system. It handles the usage and charter cost fees. It monitors properly whether the quality of SLA and service is met or not. It plans the capacity. It keeps the records of status, usage and its service performance (Falfushinsky et al., 2014). 2. Resilience, Backup and Disaster Recovery 2.1 Disaster Recovery According to Khoshkholghi et al., (2014), the disaster recovery process is a relatively new internal activity, and there are lots of misinformation and hype that is going around. The data recovery plan is divided into five stages, and DSI has to follow those five steps to restore their research data in case of any disaster. For backing up the data RAID SIX is used to back up all data when to compare to the data recovery tool it is much faster and better. The service provider will install two extra disks than required to provide better support (Chen Zhao, 2012). It has a high fault tolerance, high drive failure, and the data retaining period is high on an online spatial delivery system (OSDS). 2.3 Resilience Resiliency refers to the capability of the storage system, entire data center, network, and server. It still operates when there is power outage or equipment failure or any other kind of interruption. It is there to recover the data as quickly as possible. When the project planning is proposed the resiliency and introduced; and moreover it is linked up to the disaster plan and the with another data center for disaster recovery. The resiliency is obtained through unwanted components or other internal system or by enabling the datacenter (Jhawar Piuri, 2013). 3. Service Level Agreement Assessment As discussed by Morin et al., (2012), the service provider increases their service quality by managing their non-violation and infrastructure through SLA. The SLA gives the authority to access the resources of a various cloud service provider. The assessment goal is to address various risk aspects or factors of the cloud computing (Carlsson Fullr, 2013). To evaluate the risk factors, there are many different methods and models that can be obtained. The ownership of DSI needs to be confirmed by stored data in the vendors system. In a case of any failure, a solution needs to be implemented. The specific parameter needs to be defined. The SLA is to provide a stable service to the vendor that is selected by the Department of spatial information (Ficco et al., 2012). The risk assessment has a great impact on cloud computing. The effect of the risk in the design and architecture is reviewed by the risk management. The system infrastructure and security regulation is done. Conclusion: The presented report indicates that Department of spatial information needs to be considered all the points that are discussed above. The SLA management, Recovery Management, and Remote administration are critical for DSI, and they need to review it properly and implement it in their organization. The mentioned disaster recovery and data backup are some critical process for cloud computing and need to be addressed properly as well. To have a better experience in cloud computing DSI needs to consider all the points and have to do a critical analysis of any risk factors that might affect the implementation process. The service level agreement is very critical and important, and both DSI, and the service provider needs to review it all together and have to identify if there are any risk and how they can eliminate the risk using better assessment. To Kill A Mocking Bird And Racism In Harper Lee's book, To Kill A Mockingbird, there are many examples of racism. During this time in history racism was acceptable. Racism is a key theme in her book. Not only those who were black, but also those who affiliated with blacks, were considered inferior. Atticus, a lawyer, who defended blacks in court, was mocked. An example of this is when Mrs. Dubose said, ?Your father's [Atticus] no better than the niggers and trash he works for!? Mr. Dolphus Raymond was also criticized for affiliating with blacks, especially black females. Example is when Jem said, ?He likes ?em [blacks] better ?n he likes us [whites], I reckon.? Basically, you were black if you ?liked? blacks. Blacks, because they were considered inferior, were expected to do everything for whites. Everything had to be perfect, without excuse. Even when Calpurnia, a Finch family friend, did not make the perfect cup of coffee, she was mocked. In the book, it was obvious that Bob Ewell was a mean man. It was also obvious that he was abusive to his daughter, Mayella, and he was the one who violated her, not Tom Robinson, because what the evidence showed. But, the people of Maycomb over-looked the evidence in favor of Tom Robinson, just because he was black. In Harper Lee's book, To Kill A Mockingbird, there are many examples of racism. The legal barriers to racial equality have been torn down, and racial exclusion from the benefits of society and the rights of citizenship is no longer nearly total, as it once was. But discrimination still limits the opportunities and stifles the hopes of many black Americans and other minorities. In the realms of housing, employment, medical care, education and the administration of the criminal justice system, we are still, as the 1968 Kerner Commission Report on civil disorders warned, ?two separate Americas.? At this moment in our nation's history, it is critical that we move definitively forward in remedying the effects of discrimination. But tragically, the most successful civil rights remedies have come under attack from conservative politicians and pundits. Affirmative action, for example, which is to be credited with the creation of an increasingly diverse workforce, has come under intense criticism. Voting rights laws, which have begun to integrate the halls of Congress and state legislatures, are also under attack. As long as our society is ridden with race-based problems, we will need race-based remedies. And while we have come a long way, we still have a long way to go.
